Seniors Aging Gracefully With Enthusiasm and Spirituality

Open to residents of Lake Park. Together in our golden years we partake and enjoy with enthusiasm, the personal, spiritual, and emotional benefits of friendship and fun through group gatherings and activities.  Monthly meetings at Community Hall of Faith United Methodist Church. Annual dues $13 per person.

Lake Park Singles
We are a singles group made up forty five + year olds, mainly women, but men are also welcome. Most of us live in Lake Park and the surrounding areas. We believe in the inclusion of all singles to network and belong to our community of singles who share similar circumstances and conditions such as living alone or caring for family members.
We meet twice a month. Once on the first Thursday of each month at the Lake Park Community Center at 7:00pm to plan our monthly calendar. Then we have a social night on the third Thursday of each month. It is held at rotating member homes where we enjoy fellowship and refreshments. After about an hour of visiting, some of us will then play various board or card games, while others enjoy discussing various subjects of interest. We laugh a lot and we care a lot about each other and our community. Our club is a social resource to meet and get to know others, who may want to go to a movie, go to dinner or play dominoes. We encourage you to visit one of our monthly meetings.

Lake Park Garden Club
The Lake Park Garden Club was established in 2001 to give Lake Park residents - both men and women the opportunity to meet and share ideas and information on gardening.  We have grown into a social group as well as a service organization engaging in community beautification projects.  Friendships are made as we work together to learn tips for our personal benefit and participate in maintaining the flower bed in front of the Community Center and at several smaller places in town.  The Garden Club has purchased 2 picnic tables placed in Russell Park for the enjoyment of all citizens. Recently, we have taken trips to local gardens of interest and visited residents' yards to gather ideas.

Visitors are welcome on the third Monday of each month at the Community Center at 7:00 PM
COME AND SEE WHAT THE GARDEN CLUB IS ALL ABOUT!

Free Run/Walk Groups for Health-Conscious Moms

seeMOMMYrun.com, a non-profit that helps moms find free running or walking groups nationwide, has a new local group. Local mom Carrisa Clifton from Lake Park is one of 14,000+ women representing seeMOMMYrun.com, and moms everywhere, to provide free meet ups for running and walking moms. The seeMOMMYrun organization showcases the fact that women can set amazing personal goals while still providing for their children and families. Active moms are sometimes the first and most important role model for their children, inspiring them to get involved in sports and lead a healthy lifestyle.

The seeMOMMYrun 2007 membership is made up of women ages 24 to 46 in states across the country. Groups’ paces, fitness routines, and running or walking goals vary greatly. You might see groups meeting at local parks, participating in local 5K running events, marathons, and even triathlons nationwide. seeMOMMYrun participants represent various stages of motherhood, some with one young baby while others manage 3 or 4 children. Some of them work full-time while others stay at home with their kids. Carrisa is the Group Leader for the Indian Trail Babes and Babies. She is also a part-time Yoga Instructor and Arbonne Consultant. With the help of her 2 year old daughter, Lily, she organizes walks, play-dates, and social gatherings.
